Our faculty are dedicated to creating an environment of inquiry and lifelong learning and thus sponsor a number of regularly scheduled conferences and special seminars throughout the academic year. Fellows are active participants in these conferences and have the opportunity to learn from master clinicians and scientific leaders in pulmonary disease, critical care medicine and related fields.
+MGH Conferences
- Medical ICU Morbidity and Mortality Conference: Monthly multidisciplinary M&M conference reviewing patient deaths with case presentations by ICU fellows.
- Research Conference and Journal Club: A weekly conference with either discussion of the literature or a research presentation by either an invited speaker or an MGH fellow or faculty member.
- Pulmonary and Critical Care Grand Rounds: A weekly conference with a mix of invited speakers from MGH, outside institutions, and fellow case based presentations.
- Lung Lunch: A weekly case based conference where fellows and faculty bring challenging cases to discuss.
- Interstitial Lung Disease Conference: A bi-weekly, multidisciplinary conference attended by pulmonary, pathology and radiology to discuss diagnosis and management of ILD cases.
- Lung Transplant Selection Committee: A weekly multidisciplinary conference attended by all members of lung transplant team to discuss cases referred for transplantation.
+BIDMC Conferences
- Pulmonary and Critical Care Grand Rounds: A weekly conference with a mix of invited speakers from BIDMC, outside institutions, and fellow case-based presentations.
- Pulmonary Case Conference: A bi-monthly, multidisciplinary conference with pathology and thoracic radiology where faculty and fellows bring challenging cases for review and feedback.
- Sleep Medicine Conference: A weekly conference sponsored by the sleep medicine fellowship program.
- Critical Care Morbidity & Mortality Conference: A bi-monthly M&M conference among the various critical care practitioners at BIDMC, including medical, anesthesia, neuro, and surgical critical care.
In addition to the fellow oriented Clinical Curriculum and Academic Curriculum, our program sponsors a number of special sessions each year. These include a number of opportunities for our joint faculty to come together for lively case discussions and research presentations.
